Allen Temple Missionaries host walk, health fair

Allen Temple Missionaries will host a 10K walk starting at 7.30am. It will be followed by a health fair. Registration for the walk is $20. For more information telephone 234-0433.


Emmanuel Baptist Church, 35 Dundonald Street, Hamilton, invites the public out to its 83rd Church Anniversary Service at 11am. Guest speaker will be Brother Wayne Michael Caines. Soloist Simona Mills-Pitcher will also perform.

Next Friday (May 22)

Vernon Temple AME Church will host a night of prayer from 9pm until 6am. The session will be followed by a continental breakfast. People will pray on topics such as church, community, government, youth, families and leaders.

Next Saturday

Gospel Explosion, a special interfaith concert, will feature performances by Olivia Hamilton, the Richard Allen Praise Team and New York-based, award-winning gospel saxophone artist Tony Smith. It kicks off at the Heritage Worship Centre at 8pm. Proceeds will go to cancer sufferer Kevina Santucci, kidney failure patient Kelee Darrell and sickle-cell survivor Aquilah Salaam, as well as the LCCA. Tickets are $35 for general admission, $75 for patrons and $200 for sponsors. Friday, June 12

St Paul AME Church will host a fish fry from 11.30am until 6pm in their Centennial Hall at the corner of Court and Victoria Streets, Hamilton. For $15 you can enjoy a meal of fried fish, peas n’ rice, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and beets. Proceeds will go towards the church’s building fund. Tickets can be purchased from the church office or at the door.
