Disciple of Jesus, the newly established non-profit organisation, supported Keep Bermuda Beautiful by successfully collecting a total of 900 pounds of trash during a community clean-up effort.

Over two hours last Sunday morning, 27 volunteers helped out. Volunteers were divided into three groups and assigned to three locations: Barker’s Hill, Palmetto Road and Vesey Street.

Despite heavy rainfall that began after the first hour of cleaning, participants remained committed and enthusiastic, working on to completion.

Their perseverance reflects the organisation’s mission to inspire communities, demonstrate good stewardship of the environment, and live out their faith through service.

“As Disciples of Jesus, we are called not only to share the good news but also to take action in caring for the world around us,” Ann Gutierrez, founder of the organisation said. “This clean-up was just the beginning of our mission to serve, inspire, and make a lasting difference.”

Disciple of Jesus is a newly created non-profit organisation dedicated to faith-driven community service. Rooted in Christian values, the organisation seeks to encourage unity, stewardship, and legacy-building through meaningful action.

In a statement, the organisation said: “It was truly inspiring to witness everyone united with one goal — to make a difference in the Bermuda community and to uphold the values and dignity of Filipinos here.

“This achievement is a reminder that when we come together, we can create meaningful change not only for ourselves but also for the community we live in.

“Rest assured, this will not be the first and last time we will work hand in hand. We are committed to continuing efforts that bring growth, unity and positive impact to both our community and our people.”
