With the conclusion of the blessed month of Ramadan, our community now enters the joyful days of Eid. We extend our heartfelt greetings to all families, neighbours, and friends as we begin these days of celebration, gratitude, and unity.

Throughout Ramadan, our community fasted, prayed, and gave in charity with sincerity and dedication. As we now move into the days of Eid, we are reminded to continue the spirit of remembrance that carried us through the month.

The tradition of raising the takbir — wherever we are — affirms our gratitude to Allah and strengthens the bonds that connect our community.

Allahu akbar — for guiding us through the month of fasting.

Allahu akbar — for accepting our efforts and our duaas.

Allahu akbar — for blessing us with the joy and renewal of Eid.

We pray that Allah accepts the worship of our entire community, forgives our shortcomings, and fills our homes with peace, light, and tranquillity. May these days of Eid bring comfort to every heart, unity to every gathering, and blessings to every household.

On behalf of the community, we wish you and your families a blessed and peaceful Eid.

Eid Mubarak!

Though Ramadan has departed, its light does not simply vanish — it lingers, inviting us to carry its spirit forward. One of the beautiful ways to extend the blessings of Ramadan is through the six days of fasting in Shawwal.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “Whoever fasts during Ramadan and then follows it with six days of fasting during the following month of Shawwal, it is as if they fasted the entire year.” (Sahih Muslim)

This profound reward reflects the mercy of Allah, who multiplies even our smallest efforts. The scholars explain that since a good deed is rewarded tenfold, the 30 days of Ramadan equate to 300 days, and the six days of Shawwal complete the cycle of a full year.

The Koran establishes fasting as a means of attaining taqwa: “O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain consciousness of Allah.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183)

Fasting the six days of Shawwal becomes a continuation of that journey, a sign that Ramadan has truly impacted the heart.

These six days are not obligatory, but they are a gentle test of sincerity: was Ramadan a temporary state, or has it sparked a lasting transformation?

Whether one fasts consecutively after Eid or spreads fasting throughout the month, they offer a chance to remain connected, disciplined, and spiritually awake.

In observing them, we quietly declare that our relationship with Allah is not confined to a single month. Rather, Ramadan was the beginning — not the end — of a renewed commitment to worship with gratitude and self-restraint.

May Allah accept our fasting, our prayers, and our intentions, and allow the light of Ramadan to remain in our hearts long after its days have passed. Ameen.
