No Haaland means no chance
If you haven’t got Erling Haaland or Antoine Semenyo in your team, you are playing catch-up.
Haaland (70) is just four points clear of Semenyo (66) in the race to be the competition’s top player, with the Bournemouth player 21 points clear of third, which is occupied by Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo.
Given that Manchester City are at home to Everton, the Norwegian striker looks certain to get the chances to add to his 12 goals in all competitions this season.
Semenyo’s Bournemouth face a tricky game away at Crystal Palace but it would not take the biggest leap of faith to imagine the Ghana forward adding to his six Premier League goals and three assists this season.
Saturday
Nottingham Forest v Chelsea (8.30am)
Doubts surround some of Chelsea’s top players, with Cole Palmer reportedly still struggling with a groin injury and Enzo Fernandez sent home from the Argentina squad with a knee problem. Reece James and Moises Caicedo also face late fitness tests.
Chris Wood was taken off in New Zealand’s friendly against Norway in this international window but is expected to be fit. After six games Ange Postecoglou is under huge pressure after failing to produce a win.
Prediction: 1-2
Brighton & Hove Albion v Newcastle United (11am)
Only Wolves and Nottingham Forest have scored fewer goals than Newcastle this season, but only Arsenal have conceded fewer. Nick Pope has made it to the top of the goalkeeper standings but Tino Livramento is out injured.
Brighton are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league and midfielder Yankuba Minteh remains their only player to be interested in with 31 points this season.
Prediction: 1-1
Burnley v Leeds United (11am)
Burnley have not won since the second game of the season and expectation will be high that they will pick up some points against fellow Premier League new boys. Jaiden Anthony and Josh Cullen are cheap options that could boost your midfield.
Leeds defender Joe Rodon and midfielder Anton Stach are into the thirties in terms of points and are probably still under the radar.
Prediction: 1-1
Crystal Palace v Bournemouth (11am)
Palace's defence have been superb this season and Marc Guehi, Maxence Lacroix, Dani Munoz, Tyrick Mitchell and Chris Richards have all picked up 33 points or more. Ismaila Sarr is up to 36 points despite missing two games through injury.
As well as the top midfielder in Semenyo, Bournemouth also have the highest scoring defender in Marcos Senesi, who has scored 46 points and has had two double-figure games.
Prediction: 1-1
Manchester City v Everton (11am)
You managers are probably too wise to keep players from mid-table clubs in your fantasy team when they travel to Manchester City. So just take this as a friendly reminder that Everton’s Jack Grealish is ineligible to face his parent club.
Rodri looks set to miss this game after not training with injury this week but Pep Guardiola is able to welcome back Omar Marmoush, with the winger recovering from a knee problem. Away from Haaland, midfielders Tijjani Reijnders and Jeremy Doku could be influential this week.
Prediction: 2-0
Sunderland v Wolverhampton Wanderers (11am)
Sunderland are unbeaten at home in the league and will be looking to continue their good form at the Stadium of Light against the only team in the Premier League without a win. Wilson Isidor could be a left-field transfer to make with the forward scoring 28 points in this competition.
As for Wolves, I’ll be stunned if anybody in this RG League has any of their players,
Prediction: 2-1
Fulham v Arsenal (1.30pm)
The main player news in this game surrounds the absence of Arsenal playmaker Martin Odegaard, who will be out for a number of weeks. Noni Madueke is also out injured. They are also the only team who have four players ― Jurrien Timber, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori and Declan Rice ― above 40 points in the competition.
Midfielder Alex Iwobi and defender Joachim Andersen are Fulham’s best players but midfielder Ryan Sessegnon has started to pick up points at a rapid pace since returning to the team.
Prediction: 0-1
Sunday
Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa (10am)
Tottenham continue to perform well despite a number of players being out with long-term injuries. Midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been their star performer but he has been ably backed up by Richarlison, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero
Villa’s form has started to pick up and they are now unbeaten in five games in all competitions. That has coincided with goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s return to the team and he is worthy of bringing into your team now.
Prediction: 1-1
Liverpool v Manchester United (12.30pm)
Liverpool have lost their last three matches against Crystal Palace and Chelsea in the league and Galatasaray in the Champions League. Goalkeeper Alisson will miss this game while Ibrahima Konate withdrew from the France squad with injury.
Manchester United have still not won back-to-back games under Ruben Amorim, which means they are due a defat here after beating Sunderland last time. It will be interesting to see if Matheus Cunha works his way into the starting line-up as he recovers from injury.
Prediction: 2-1
Monday
West Ham United v Brentford (4pm)
Nuno will be hoping to impress West Ham’s fans in his first home game since being appointed as head coach. Given his tactical preferences, speedy winger Crysencio Summerville is likely to get plenty of chance to play but he will not be feeding forward Nicklas Fullkrug, who is out injured.
Brentford forward Igor Thiago continues to be their highest points scorer after notching four times in the Premier League this season.
Prediction: 2-1
