Global Running Day Bermuda to feature in Harbour Nights

Bermuda to observe Global Running Day

Bermuda will be among the many countries around the world observing Global Running Day tomorrow.

Runners and walkers aged 7 to 16 will participate in the event observed annually in more than 175 countries on the first Wednesday in June to celebrate the joys of running, promote healthier lifestyles, mental well being and community cohesiveness.

Participants have the option of completing a 4K course starting just east of Manse Road or 2K course starting from Red Hole in Paget, with both courses finishing at the Flagpole on Front Street amid the Harbour Nights festivities.

“We all know the excitement of Harbour Nights and with a finish at the Flagpole participants are able to take in all of the festivities on offer,” event organiser Anthony Raynor told The Royal Gazette. “We would like to thank the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce for allowing us to incorporate Global Running Day into this Wednesday’s Harbour Nights programme.”

Both events at 7pm with further details and registration available at www.racedayworld.com.

Registration includes transportation to the start line allowing participants to leave the vehicles in Hamilton.
