AIG Bermuda to sponsor Half-Marathon Derby
American International Group has been announced as the lead sponsor of the 2026 Bermuda Half- Marathon Derby.
The insurance giant has backed the 117th renewal of Bermuda’s most famous race, with the race committee, led by Dr Gina Tucker, confident that the sponsorship will help the race ascend to new heights.
“While Bermuda’s most iconic sporting event is defined by community, endurance and national pride, as the race approaches its 117th year, the partnership with AIG Bermuda marks an exciting new chapter focused on innovation, inclusion, and enhanced race-day experiences.” Tucker said
“We are thrilled to welcome AIG Bermuda as our 2026 lead sponsor. Their support will help us elevate the experience for runners and spectators alike ― from start to finish ― while ensuring that this cherished event continues to thrive for generations to come.”
Jesse Haldeman, country leader at AIG Bermuda, feels the sponsorship underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to community investment, health and wellness, and supporting initiatives that celebrate Bermuda’s culture and resilience.
“AIG’s Bermuda Office is honoured to partner with the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby, a hallmark of community spirit and athletic excellence,” said Haldeman.
“We look forward to helping make the 2026 race one of the most memorable yet and one that reflects the energy, unity, and pride of our island home.”
The Derby race committee has said that route updates and community events will be announced in the coming months, with registration set to open on January 1, 2026.
