Another entrant for sailing's King Edward VII Gold Cup regatta which takes place in Hamilton Harbour in October, will be decided in New York later this month.

The 27th Annual Knickerbocker Cup, hosted by the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club, is scheduled for August 26-30 with the winner gaining automatic entry to the Gold Cup, which features sailing's cream of the crop.

Twelve teams from around the world have been invited to compete in the Knickerbocker regatta which also serves as a qualifier for the World Match Racing Tour.
