Wollmann fifteenth after six races

Cecilia Wollmann remained on course for a top-ten showing at the Youth Sailing World Championships in Malaysia today.

The 2016 Olympic hopeful managed a fifteenth place and a 27th in variable winds that kept the Laser Radial girls fleet on their toes.

After six races, Wollmann is fifteenth among the 54-boat fleet.

Maria Erdi, of Hungary, now leads the Laser Radial girls fleet after knocking Magdalena Kwasna, of Poland, off the top of the standings.

Also holding his own at the regatta is Wollmann's brother, Mikey.

After six races, Mikey is 37th in the 68-strong Laser Radial boys fleet.

Alistair Young, of Australia, continues to lead the boys heading into the business end of the regatta.

The Wollmann siblings are among a record 425 sailors from 80 nations competing in the regatta, which runs through Sunday off the island of Langkawi.

They qualified for the event at this summer's Sail Canada Youth National Championships in Kingston, Ontario, where Cecilia was the top female sailor and tenth overall, followed by her brother one spot back.
