Easy win for overseas All-Stars

MSL 9ISL 3The Major Indoor Soccer League All-Star’s enjoyed a comfortable victory over the Island Soccer League All-Stars at the National Sports Centre last night.A hat-trick from Bryan Alvarez and a double strike from Ricardinho guided the visitors to the win and stretched the All-Star winning streak to four games.Hewerton Moreira, Jonathan Greenfield, Machel Milwood and local boy John Barry Nusum all scored solo strikes in the win, while Jahron Dickinson, Ian Coke, and Clay Darrell scored for the hosts. The scoring started as early as the first minute, with Jonathon Greenfield slotting home following a move which involved all of his five outfield team-mates.While the match was effectively over as a contest with the professionals running out to 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, the local side continued to fight for every loose ball until the final whistle and were unlucky on a few occasions.Striker Jason Lee was the chief beneficiary of bad luck, having two efforts cannon off the post.ISL MVP and leading scorer Cecoy Robinson, who plays for ISL side Arsenal, was satisfied with the All-Star weekend as a whole regardless of the result.“It was a good weekend, it was a reflection of all the hard work everyone put in this season so it was one to enjoy,” said Robinson.“It was good to mix in with them out there, there are a lot of things that they excel in and it showed tonight the mistakes will get punished in the top level.“It was only minor things that separated the teams, but overall it was good to be out here.“My season has been great, but it’s more about the team effort and if I get recognised as I did it is because of the team.“I was in the right place at the right time throughout the season and I’m just happy that we got the title, that was the main thing.”
