Howard is Concacaf’s new acting general secretary

NEW YORK (AP) Ted Howard has become acting general secretary of regional football body Concacaf, following the resignation of Chuck Blazer.The appointment of the 66-year-old Howard (pictured) was announced yesterday by Concacaf, which governs the game in North and Central America and the Caribbean.Howard has been deputy general secretary since 1998.He was executive director of the North American Soccer League from 1971-84, then spent three years as director of marketing of Ohlmeyer Communications.He was director and group manager of NBA marketing from 1988-98.
