Derek deChabert’s football predictions

Southampton Rangers v BoulevardA huge game for both teams with their top flight status on the line. A draw would be enough for Blazers whose form has improved dramatically in recent weeks.Conversely, Southampton Rangers have experienced a tumultuous few weeks, having lost the services of their coach Keith Jennings who was banned by Bermuda Football Association for threatening behaviour towards referee Stephen Allen. With the momentum in Boulevard’s favour, I expect Blazers to stay up by pulling off a draw at Southampton Oval.Prediction: 3-3Robin Hood v PHCBoth teams are sure to hand some of their fringe players a chance to showcase their skills in what could be a high scoring game at BAA Field. It’s been an encouraging campaign for Hood in their first season in the top flight and they should be able to push PHC all the way in this one.Prediction: 2-2North Village v Somerset TrojansWith the CFU Club Championships just over a week away, North Village will use the clash as a warm-up at Bernard Park. The Rams have rediscovered their best form of late but coach Shaun Goater may choose to give some of his fringe players a run-out.Trojans have a little too play for and the game will probably have more of a friendly feel about it.Prediction: Village 2-1St David’s v St George’sNot much to play for here other than pride at Lords.St George’s should have too much for St David’s, though, who are already condemned to First Division football next season.Prediction: St George’s 3-1Dandy Town v Devonshire CougarsTitle time for Dandy Town, who end the campaign against city rivals Devonshire Cougars at St John’s Field. It will be more of a festive occasion that a battle of significant meaning, and both sides would settle for a draw.Prediction: 1-1
