Dogs in title glory

Tuff Dogs wrapped up the Corona League title with a 3-1 win over West End United at BAA Field at the weekend.

With one week left and a sizeable lead over second place BAA, a win was always going to be enough to confirm their second league title in the years.

Yusef Pitt grabbed a brace, while the league’s leading goalscorer Lamaul Crofton added a solo strike to get the champagne showers underway.

Eugene Simmons scored United’s goal.

Robin Hood and Lobster Pot ended their showdown with a share of the spoils after their 2-2 draw.

In what was a scrappy encounter, Pot took an early lead through Matthew Steede and added a second just before half-time from Marek Noha.

Hood pulled one back when Stefan Silkens fired home from close range before Grant McKellar tied things up with a strike from outside the box.

St Davids didn’t turn up for their match against Flanagan’s Onions, thus giving Onions the win via default.

Vasco were the biggest winners of the weekend, thrashing Valley FC 15-2.

Mario Rui helped himself to four goals, while both Rui Rocha and Ricardo Mederios scored hat-tricks.

Also on the scoresheet was Mario Arruda with a brace, Rui Sebastiao, Steven Ambrosio and Stephan Teleman.

Valley’s scorers couldn’t be confirmed.
