Lambe’s Toronto heading south

Reggie Lambe faces trips to Mexico and El Salvador when his Major League Soccer club Toronto play in the group stages of the 2012-2013 CONCACAF Champions League.The Bermudian, who joined the Canadian club at the beginning of this season and scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps in the final of the Canadian Cup last month, will play against last year’s runners-up Santos from Mexico and Aguila from El Salvador following yesterday’s draw.Five MLS teams are in the competition, Toronto being joined by Los Angeles Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders and Houston.The stage begins on July 31.The Galaxy are grouped with Isidro Metapan of El Salvador and a Caribbean qualifier yet to be determined.Real Salt Lake take on Herediano (Costa Rica) and Tauro (Panama). Houston are with Olimpia (Honduras) and FAS (El Salvador) while the Sounders face Marathon (Honduras) and a Caribbean qualifier.Defending champions Monterrey of Mexico play Chorrillo (Panama) and Municipal (Guatemala).
