Damon Ming believes his Bermuda Hogges team-mates are their own worst enemies after they slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Long Island Rough Riders on Thursday night at St Anthony High School.The match was the third of the week for Hogges and came on the back of their first win of the campaign, a 3-2 win over Brooklyn Knights on Tuesday, taking their road record to one win and two losses.Goals on either side of the break courtesy of Sean Sepe, in the ninth minute, and Keith Detelj, in the 68th, were more than enough to power the hosts to the win.A chief problem for the side has been a lack of killer instinct in front of goal, particularly in the opening minutes of matches.Although it is an issue that Ming believes can be rectified, he said it will need to be addressed in the very near future if they have any chance of improving their league position.“I feel we have been in every game, we are just lacking that finishing touch,” said Ming. “If we finish our early chances I have no doubt that we can come away from this road trip with more points.”The loss sees the side drop to eighth in the table with five points but can go as high as fifth depending on goal difference.While the result didn’t go the way of the Bermuda side, Ming insisted that the side are still upbeat and ready to go tonight when they take on Jersey Express at NJIT Stadium.A win over the Express would see the Hooges draw level on points with their rivals who are currently on eight points.“The team are still in good spirits, we are not really fatigued yet, the team have been doing what they have to to recover at a fast pace.
