Promotion chasing Hamilton Parish meet leaders St. David’s

Hamilton Parish goalkeeper Nigel Burgess admitted that their top of the table clash with St David’s tomorrow at Lords is a must win for their promotion push.Parish are level on points with BAA on 31 points but have a game in hand, something that could have a huge bearing on who goes up with the Islanders who hold an eight-point lead over the next two teams. St David’s head the First Division table with 39 points and look certain to win promotion straight back to the top flight, leaving BAA and Parish to fight it out for the remaining promotion spot.Nonetheless, Burgess has called every match in the run-in a must win.“We feel confident going into every match, it’s a game that can make or break us but more so make us, given the two teams are first and second in the league,” said Burgess.“Every game is a must win and we want to be in the top flight next year. In the end we just want to make a good impression on the match and that will take care of itself.“We can’t be bothered by what others are doing, we have to take care of ourselves and let the result show that we have played as well as we can.”The pressure will be on Parish to get a positive result with BAA expected to grab all three points against Ireland Rangers tonight at Somerset Cricket Club in the first game of a double header which sees Somerset playing title contenders PHC in the Premier Division encounter. In other First Division action this weekend, Paget welcome X-Roads to White Hill Field, while Young Men’s travel to Goose Gosling Field to tackle Boulevard. All First Division matches wil lstart at 12.30pm.Remaining Premier Division action this weekend sees league champions Dandy Town Hornet taking on North Village at St. John’s Field; Robin Hood meeting St. George’s at Goose Gosling Field in a clash between the two teams likely to be relegated while Southampton Rangers play Wolves at Southampton Oval.
