Hurdle hits four as Dogs claim Bistro Cup

Tuff Dogs 4Vasco 1Kevin Hurdle scored four goals as Tuff Dogs reclaimed the Bistro Cup with a win over Vasco on Friday night at Goose Gosling Field.Nuno DaSilva grabbed Vasco’s goal. “It was one of those nights for Kevin where everything seemed to fall to him and he took all his chances well,” said Dogs president Manny Faria.Hurdle gave his side the lead after ten minutes, and they never looked back with Hurdle grabbing his second just before the break.Vasco reduced the deficit with DaSilva’s goal, but Hurdle’s third would be the nail in Vasco’s coffin midway through the second half. In a fitting way to end the season, and the match, Hurdle snatched his fourth moments before the final whistle.“To win the cup and to successfully defend it is a good way to end the season so we are pleased,” added Faria.Saturday saw the annual All-Star game, which was won by Blue over White, 6-4.Lamaul Crofton from Tuff Dogs and Jevon Minors from Lobster Pot scored two goals each for Blue, while Lock N Key’s Chris Anderson and Dogs’ Aaron Brown added a goal each in their team’s win.White got two goals from Flanagan Onions’ Gary McRobert and strikes from Steven Simons from West End and Wayne Clapham from BAA in the loss.
