BFA and ABC launch coaching courses

Bermuda Football Association (BFA) and the ABC Football School will join forces next week to host coaching educational courses on local shores.

The partnership will see sessions made available for local coaches for the remainder of the year, with candidates able to complete an ABC School ‘C’ license.

This license will make them eligible to complete a Scottish FA ‘B’ license,

“This is an excellent opportunity for coaches in Bermuda,” said BFA player development committee chairman Mark Wade. “One of the impediments to coaching education in Bermuda is that coaches have been required to travel overseas to get the required licenses and this cane now take place here.

“Previously, a group of coaches were able to complete the English FA International license on local soil.”

Top French coach Jacques Crevoisier will return to the Island to assist with the the course.

Crevoisier, a former Liverpool assistant coach, visited the Island last year to hold a second ‘C’ licence course as well as award certificates to the first batch who completed their diplomas.

He has written three of four coaching handbooks tailor-made for Bermudian football.

The ABC Football School was established by national team Andrew Bascome and Henrik Schroder, the ABC director.
