Trojans pick up first win

Somerset 2 Wolves 1Somerset Trojans picked up their first win of the season tonight, coming from behind to beat Wolves in a Premier Division match at Somerset. The Trojans, who have suffered some heavy defeats in league and cup matches this season, were facing another loss when Wolves took the lead in the 22nd minute when the unmarked Markez Laws headed home at the far post from a corner on the left from Shaki Pearman.Wolves held that advantage until the break but early in the second half the tide began to change as Somerset started to impose themselves more on the visitors. They got their reward ten minutes into the second half when Leo Burgess made space for himself inside the box to drive a low shot past the Wolves goalkeeper Jahhi Shakir to level the score.Somerset scored the winner in the 66th minute when Deunte Darrell converted from the penalty spot after Lamelle Paynter fouled Burgess on the right edge of the box. Darrell placed his spotkick low to Shakir’s right. In the First Division opener, Somerset Eagles and BAA drew 1-1. Darin Dowling put Eagles ahead in the ninth minute and Joshua DeSilva equalised for BAA on the hour. The visitors also had Jaylon Bather sent off late in the match for a second yellow card, when he pulled back an Eagles player.
