Granada? Suits you, Tony Adams

Adams takes a training session with Granada

It has been a sobering week in the world of football.

It feels out of place to highlight it all in this frivolous column (except to say the odious Kelvin MacKenzie has hopefully written his last article).

Serious times in football require a pick-me-up, however.

Step forward Tony Adams, who stepped straight off the set of a 70s porn homage to take over La Liga’s Granada.

Don’t believe me? Check out his suit. Even Dirk Diggler would think twice about that waistcoat combo.

Still, from no-nonsense centre-back to coach in Spain via Wycombe (failure), Portsmouth (failure) and Azerbaijan (no idea) is some career path.

If his tactics are as daring as his dress sense, he has a chance.

11am kick off unless stated

Today

Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth

8.30am

Spurs have to turn up the heat on Chelsea with a win over Bournemouth, which they should do convincingly.

Harry Kane is expected to slot back into the starting line-up. Prediction: 3-0

Crystal Palace v Leicester City

Big Sam loves sticking it to the champions and after his side dismantled Arsenal, they probably start as slight favourites here. Leicester have the exertions of a Champions League quarter- final to get over and a second leg to prepare for. Prediction: 2-1

Everton v Burnley

Everton have won their past seven at home and should make it eight here given Sean Dyche’s side’s away-day blues. Prediction: 2-0

Stoke City v Hull City

Stoke have lost their way in the latter part of the season and this is a great chance for Hull to continue their remarkable clamber to safety.

However, their away form in miserable so will have to settle for a point. Prediction: 1-1

Sunderland v West Ham United

It appears the uber miserable David Moyes really does have something to worry about now, with relegation an almost certainty.

West Ham are not in great nick either though. A draw, which is no good for either team. Prediction: 1-1

Watford v Swansea City

Swansea have had their hearts broken by recent results and you have to question whether they have the spirit to get back on the winning trail. This is an awkward one for them ... and could deepen the gloom in Wales. Prediction: 2-1

Southampton v

Manchester City

1.30pm

Tricky game for City against a Saints team capable of causing an upset despite being hit by injuries. However, the smart money has to be on an away win. Prediction: 0-2

Tomorrow

West Bromwich Albion

v Liverpool

9.30am

Exactly the type of game Liverpool fail to turn up for, and exactly the type of game they need to win to cement a top-four place.

WBA have slumped recently but the visit of Liverpool could stir them in action once again. Prediction: 2-2

Manchester United v Chelsea

Noon

United are unbeaten in 21 games and this has obvious spice given Mr Mourinho’s affiliation with Chelsea.

Given his side’s ability to draw an incredible amount of home games (nine), and with Chelsea in cruise mode, this looks like being ... another draw. Prediction: 1-1

Monday

Middlesbrough v Arsenal

4pm

The trouble is, however bad Arsenal are at the moment, Middlesbrough are worse. Prediction: 0-1
