Teams gear up for Appleby finals

The Appleby Youth Knockout Cup finals will take place today at the National Sports Centre, starting at noon.

BAA and PHC Whites will kick off the action when they meet in the Under-13 Division 2 final. BAA progressed to the final following a 2-0 victory over Young Men’s Social Club in the semi-final. Kimai Hendrickson scored two early first-half goals to send his team to the final.

Their opponents, PHC Whites, advanced from their semi-final contest against Devonshire Cougars with a comfortable 5-1 victory. Temai Hewey led PHC with a hat trick with Hayden Dill and Malik Marshall adding a goal each. Alziae Burgess scored the consolation goal.

In the Under-13 Division 1 final, North Village Reds will play Dandy Town at 2pm after both recorded comfortable wins to secure their spots in the final. North Village got past PHC Blacks 5-1 in their semi-final.

North Village were gifted an own goal in the third minute before Kenori Simons added two along with Owen Botelho and Torque Outerbridge. Zijae Jones scored the lone goal for PHC. Dandy Town eased past ABC with a 4-1 victory. David Blankendal scored three and Kazhi Sealey scored one with Tyrese Charves scoring for ABC.

Dandy Town and PHC meet in the Under-15 final at 4pm. Town saw off BAA 3-0 in their semi-final with goals from Jahdae Broadbelt, Natrae Eversley and Isaiah Blankendal at the BFA Field.

PHC also recorded a shut out with a 2-0 win over ABC. Zakyah Lee scored both goals for the winners.
