Butterfield scores as Harriers earn point

On target: Milan Butterfield

Milan Butterfield got on the scoresheet as Kidderminster Harriers settled for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw away at Altrincham in Vanarama National League North at the weekend. The Bermuda midfielder put his side ahead in the 20th minute, but they were denied all three points at Moss Lane as Jake Moult levelled in the 73rd minute. The result left Kidderminster sixteenth in the table with 22 points, ahead of a busy festive period with a visit from Hereford on Thursday followed up with a trip to Breackley Town on Saturday.Nahki Wells was left to rue a glaring miss as Naby Sarr scored deep into injury time to earn Charlton Athletic a precious point in a 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship.Charlton, who are winless in 11 games, twice had to come from behind as Lyle Taylor nudged the ball past Joe Lumley to cancel out Geoff Cameron’s opener when Charlton failed to clear a Eberechi Eze free kick.Marc Pugh, having combined with substitute Bright Osei-Samuel to restore the lead, looked to have won it for QPR with his goal 20 minutes from time. However, Sarr pounced on a sloppy back-header by the home defence and kept his cool to beat Lumley five minutes into time added on.QPR could have had the game in the bag had Wells and Osei-Samuel both taken golden chances. The West London club have dropped to fourteenth, five points adrift of the final play-off place. They travel to Reading on Boxing Day, before hosting Hull City on Sunday. Reggie Lambe was sent off as Cambridge United came out on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller, losing 3-2 at home to Leyton Orient in League Two.Orient raced into a three-goal advantage at half-time courtesy of goals from Jamie Turley, Josh Wright and Jordan Maguire-Drew, before Cambridge staged a second-half fightback with goals from Jack Roles and Sam Smith. However, there was to be no dramatic turnaround as Lambe received a second booking six minutes from time and was closely followed down the tunnel by Leyton Orient’s Myles Judd, also dismissed for a second bookable offence. In the same league, Jonté Smith was an unused substitute as Cheltenham Town drew 1-1 away at Port Vale. Meanwhile, Justin Donawa came on as a late substitute and Osagi Bascome was an unused sub as Darlington secured a 1-0 victory away at York City in the Vanarama National League.
