Social Club happy to fill their boots

First Division round-up

Young Men’s Social Club crushed Vasco 6-0 in a lopsided First Division encounter at Bernard Park yesterday.

The visiting side struck three times either side of the break in a match they bossed the entire way en route to their second league win of the season.

Ryan Paris started the ball rolling when he opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after controlling a cross and drilling in a shot from outside of the box.

K’Tori Butterfield then ran on to a through-ball and slotted past Fabio Medeiros, the Vasco goalkeeper, nine minutes later to double Social Club’s advantage.

Giniko Butterfield made it 3-0 when he tapped in a pullback in the box right on the stroke of half-time.

Social Club pulled farther away in the 77th minute when Medeiros was charged with an own goal after N’Zyah Edwards’s shot deflected in off the goalkeeper’s body.

Jahmir Lewis-Trott then scored in the 87th and second minute of second-half stoppage time to cap his team’s dominate display.

Elsewhere at Lord’s, St David’s handed Boulevard their first league loss, Keijon Butterfield getting the only goal.

Wolves versus Ireland Rangers at Garrison Field was not played — believed to be because the pitch was unmarked.
