Eva Frazzoni says she is excited to have joined Hashtag United and is looking forward to showcasing her talents on the English women’s football scene.

The Bermuda captain completed her move after agreeing to the terms of an undisclosed deal with the club and made her debut in the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South East in a goalless draw away to AFC Wimbledon at Carshalton Athletic on Sunday.

Frazzoni took to social media to express her delight over the new chapter in her career.

“Excited to be a part of this club,” she posted on her Twitter account.

“Thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen. Ready to get going.”

The midfielder’s arrival at the club was also announced on social media.

“Bermudian international Eva has signed for the Tags and she featured for the team on Sunday,” the club posted on their Twitter account.

“We’re looking forward to seeing just what the midfielder can bring to the club this season.

“Welcome to the Tags Eva.”

Naquita Robinson, the Bermuda coach, is thrilled and encouraged to see local players aspiring to play either at professional or semi-professional levels abroad, which she believes can only bode well for the national women’s programme.

“Naturally as a coach you want as many as your players to be playing post-college,” she said. “It just bodes well for us as we prepare for our next steps as a national team.

“More and more of our girls are signing and not always to major clubs. But they are going to be in professional environments, which is going to help keep us closer to our rivals.

“If you look at Jamaica, most of their girls are signed to professional or semi-professional contracts. So the more we get to sign to these types of clubs bodes well for us.”

Frazzoni joins Hashtag on the back of a hectic schedule of international and domestic commitments in recent months.

She led Bermuda in their Concacaf W Championships qualifying campaign in April and was also a member of Somerset Trojans Big Ballers, who won the league and cup double this summer.
