Gold medals for Bermuda swimmers at Florida meet
Bermuda’s swimmers picked up a string of medals across the first two days of the 2025 Planet Swim Summer championships in Florida.
Brian Desmond, Caleb Ingham, Logan Jones and Gabriel Maranzana won the gold for Bermuda in the boys 400 medley relay, with Desmond also returning with a silver medal in the boys 100 metres backstroke.
Ingham also made it to the podium in an individual event, finishing third in the boys 50 metres freestyle.
The team of 12 swimmers headed to Ponte Vedra after the Central American and Caribbean Championships were postponed, with this event fitting perfectly with their training schedules.
Aside from the three medals there were a number of notable performers with plenty of Bermuda athletes making A finals.
Elanna Fulton, Taylor White, Isabella Jones and Jorgia White finished fourth in the girls 400 medley relay for girls, with Fulton, Scarlett Spurling, Jones and Jorgia White occupying fifth position in the 400 freestyle relay.
Noah Fulton, Dominic Wright, Logan Jones and Maranzana were also fourth in the boys 400 freestyle relay.
Desmond finished seventh in the 400 metres freestyle, With Taylor White fifth and Violet Smith eight in the girls 15 & over 100 metres backstroke.
Isabella Jones was fifth in the 15 and over girls 200 metres breaststroke, Taylor White eight in the girls 200 metres freestyle and Maranzana and Dominic Wright fifth and eighth respectively in the boys 13-14 50 metres freestyle.
