Jack Harvey and Sam Williamson qualified for the B finals tonight in their respective swimming races at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay.

Harvey, the day after after clinching bronze in the men’s 100 metres backstroke, won his heat in the 50 freestyle. However, his time of 23.25sec placed him twelfth overall.

The medal-winner, who had already indicated that he was not expecting much in the freestyle as that is not his speciality, is hitting the pool again at 6.05pm in the consolation race.

Williamson is racing at 6.32pm after finishing sixth in heat two of the 400 individual medley. He clocked 4min 51.71sec, with that time placing him eleventh.

Marleigh Howes stopped the clock in 27.62 to take second position in the women’s 50 freestyle, but she did not make the B final. When the heats were combined, her time placed her 22nd.
