Rory Shepherd with his silver medal

Rory Shepherd picked up his second medal at the Carifta Aquatics Championships in Martinique after finishing second in the 200 metres individual medley.

Shepherd fought his way through the field from fifth after the opening butterfly leg to finish in 2min 22.42sec, chasing home Christon Joseph, from Bahamas.

The performance earned Shepherd his second silver medal of the Games after he finished runner-up in the 50 metres backstroke on Saturday night.

After making his second appearance on the podium, he reflected on his performance.

“I way outperformed my expectations in this race as I was not expecting to get a PB by more than four seconds in the final,” he said.

“It feels incredible to have done that and picked up another silver medal,” Shepherd said.
