iStore opens second branch
Technology lovers will be able to get their hands on the latest gadgets following the launch of a new iStore in town. The new branch, which is based in HSBC’s Harbourview Centre building, was opened last month and has already proved to be a big hit among shoppers of different ages and needs, according to sales assistant Calvina Parfitt.Ms Parfitt said that the iPads - Apple’s newest addition to its range of products - had flown off the shelves since they hit the Bermuda market. “It has been crazy,” she said. “At Christmas time we brought in 30 iPads in one shipment and they were all gone in one hour.”The new boutique is an extension of the main store further up Reid Street offering everything from iPods and iPads to accessories like cases and iTunes cards.Ms Parfitt said the business decided to set up in a more central location at the request of its clients and caters to all tastes from MacBook Pros for business people and those with hobbies such as photography to the standard MacBook for home use.Working in partnership with Digicel to sell 3G iPads, Ms Parfitt said that iPads and iPod cases are currently the biggest sellers as users turn to more compact devices. The new iStore is open from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm.
