CellularOne set to buy M3?

Speculation in the community that CellularOne is set to buy telecommunications rival M3 Wireless from parent company KeyTech Ltd has been described as “a rumour” by both companies who have declined to comment further.The Royal Gazette was contacted by a number of sources claiming they had been reliably informed of the sale by company insiders.M3 Wireless CEO Sheila Lines said in reponse to our questions on the speculation yesterday: “The statement that M3 Wireless is going to be sold to CellularOne is a rumour. As such we do not comment on rumours or speculation about any aspect of our business.“M3 Wireless as part of the KeyTech Group of companies always has and always will adhere to the rules and regulations set by The Bermuda Stock Exchange that govern the disclosure of any material information related to The KeyTech Group companies.”CellularOne’s chief operating officer Frank Amaral also said that the move was a rumour and it was company policy not to comment on such matters, adding that the company would keep its customers informed of any business developments.CellularOne, which has a business in the Turks & Caicos as well as Bermuda, is an operating subsidiary of US telecoms company Atlantic Tele-network.
