The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce Business Technology Division has announce it will be hosting the 2011 Techweek Tradeshow in October. The Technology Division, which champions innovation in technology and stimulates interest in and the adoption of advancing technologies such as cloud computing and mobile communications service, will use the Techshowcase as a unique opportunity to learn about trends, emerging technologies and highlight technology on the cutting edge.Marisa Stones, chair of the Technology Division, said: “Techweek has been an integral part of technology community for past five years and we are pleased to be able support this year’s programme by putting on the tradeshow in partnership with the Department of E-Commerce. In 2007, we undertook a similar effort and event was well supported by a cross-section of industry players.“This year, we are hoping to see the same level support. A trade show is an excellent opportunity for experts to talk one-on-one with the community. And, because we are sharing a communal space, we are providing the utmost convenience for business executives and the general public to see the best technology and services Bermuda has to offer. Technology touches us all and therefore Techshowcase will have something for everyone.”Techweek, which runs from Friday October 7 to Friday October 14, is a programme put on by the Department of E-Commerce and has been successful in raising awareness of the importance of technology in a sophisticated economy like Bermuda. In addition to showing the benefits of time-saving and entertaining technology, the Department has been busy promoting the services offered to keep the Island well-placed as a leading business jurisdiction.Techshowcase committee chair Coral Wells, said: “ At this stage, we are aiming to host the tradeshow on Friday October 7 and Saturday October 8 and we are seeking participating companies to sign up for exhibitor spaces by September 15 2011. The 2011 participant package offers a great number of benefits that exceed the standard showcase display appearance.”For more information contact Fiona Lines, divisional co-ordinator, on 295-4201 or flines[AT]bcc.bm, or Coral Wells on coral[AT]wwslbda.com
