Tech Tip Of The Week
Q: What is Spyware?
A: Spyware is a variation of Malware, which is a harmful form of software that infests your PC. Malware is more commonly found in Windows based systems and can cause a multitude of issues that will negatively impact your experience.
Spyware collects information about the user such as logins and passwords, captures internet usage patterns of the user (sites frequently visited) and can also change the settings of your PC without your knowledge. Redirection of web sites and notable delays in internet speed are other common symptoms caused by Spyware.
Be proactive and source an anti spyware program to detect and remove any existing malware and block potential threats going forward. There are many flavours out there so be sure to consult someone well versed to ensure you select the option that best suits your individual needs.
