Bermuda technology firm Ignition has hired a new director of Business Solutions.

In the newly created role, Christopher Eaton will be responsible for developing and growing the company’s Business Solutions practice across three areas: software solutions based on Microsoft technologies; practice management solutions based on the market-leading Viewpoint application; and records management services including consulting, scanning and ECM solutions.

Michael Branco, executive vice-president and general manager of the Ignition Group said adding this position reflects the company’s growth in its business solutions practice. He thinks Mr Eaton is perfect for the job.

“Christopher’s extensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by clients in the offshore market together with his expertise in technology solutions made him the ideal person to lead our Business Solutions practice.” Mr Branco said. “Ignition has a strong portfolio of existing business solutions implementations in SharePoint, BizTalk and ViewPoint which Christopher will build upon.”

With more than 20 years of experience in the IT sector, Mr Eaton has expertise in a wide variety of business technology solutions. He has held senior positions with leading technology companies like Mission Testing and Business Objects and has also worked within several offshore financial services centres including the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Cayman Islands and Bermuda. Prior to joining Ignition, Mr Eaton helped to build an award-winning business solutions practice in the Cayman Islands.
