48-hour Bermuda odyssey for UK travel writer
Top UK travel writer Simon Calder is in Bermuda for a two-day whirlwind tour of the Island’s attractions.
The aptly-named ‘48 Hours with Simon Calder’ is also being filmed for
The Independent newspaper’s website.
Mr Calder aims to share Bermuda’s charm with UK readers. Experiences include a tour alongside Hamilton’s Town Crier, and a John Lennon ‘Double Fantasy’-themed stroll in the Botanical Gardens as well as a meeting with Tourism Minister Wayne Furbert.
Mr Furbert said coverage from a high-profile travel journalist promised to make Mr Calder’s visit a fruitful one.
Mr Calder, who has visited before, vowed to show British viewers what was possible in a 48-hour stop.
“It’s a great escape to a land where you can feel the love,” he said.
