New information centre for visitors

A Visitor Information Centre is to open in the Ferry Terminal in Hamilton.

Unitl recently the VIC was operated by Destiny Tours Limited, and based out of the Juice ‘n’ Beans Cafe on Front Street.

However, the Tourism Department have now awarded the contract to Alison Outerbridge of Bermuda Heritage Tours, and she plans to relocate to the Ferry Terminal Building at Albouys Point.

Other contracts awarded by Tourism will see Philip Anderson of Destination St George operate the VIC from Market Wharf in King’s Square, and Captain Steven (Cooky) Brown, of Destiny Tours, operate the VIC in Dockyard, which is based at the King’s Wharf, Heritage Wharf and Ferry Dock VIC Kiosk.

Minister of Tourism Development and Shawn Crockwell said: “The VICs are often the first place visitors to Bermuda go to find out what to do and where to go.

“I am confident the recently awarded contracts to operate the VICs will ensure an unforgettable experience for our visitors so that they can truly experience why Bermuda is so much more.”
