Carry the cards and help promote Bermuda

Bermuda residents are being encouraged to promote the Island internationally with wallet-sized cards with helpful information. The ‘Take Bermuda With You... And Pass it On’ programme was formally launched yesterday by the Visitor Industry Partnership (VIP) with the sponsorship of the Bermuda Tourism Board. As part of the programme travelling Bermudians will be provided with free cards promoting the Island.VIP Chair Barbara O’Shaughnessy said: “The next time you meet someone overseas and they say, ‘Wow, Where’s Bermuda?’ or ‘How do I get there?’ - instead of drawing a map of Bermuda on a napkin, you can reach for a card and show them the proximity of Bermuda and which airlines and cruise lines service Bermuda.“There is also a space where you can write your name, e-mail or your recommendation on what to do in Bermuda.”The cards also contain colourful pictures of Bermuda and a smartphone link to the Department of Tourism website. The Take Bermuda With You and Pass it On signs and cards can be found at La Trattoria Café/Sports Bar, the Boulevard Café, Island Coffee, in the departures area of the LF Wade International Airport and in the Bermuda.com to-go display boxes at 18 other locations on the Island.Joanne McPhee, Chair of the Tourism Appreciation Committee for the Bermuda Tourism Board said: “We are thrilled to endorse this VIP initiative as it is a simple, sensible and effective way for Bermuda residents to carry the message and for Bermuda visitors to encourage their family and friends to come and see us”.
