Get ready for ‘Love Month’

There are plenty of events and activities for ‘Love Month’, currently underway and promoted by the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

Bermuda Tourism Authority has declared February ‘Love Month’ with a number of activities planned in the next few weeks.

“This month-long series of relationship-strengthening events and romantic activities is aimed at helping couples reconnect,” announced the BTA yesterday.

Love Month activities include:

• Couples’ Golf Tournaments at Port Royal GC on Mondays and Thursdays, 8:30am to 12pm

Players will receive a 50 percent discount on greens fees, inclusive of a cart, and the winners of the tournament will receive prizes compliments of the Department of Tourism.

• Champagne and Strawberries Afternoon Affair at the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art on Tuesdays, between 1pm to 3pm.

Couples will get complimentary access and a guided tour of Masterworks Museum which features internationally acclaimed works of art from Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keeffe, Marsden Hartley, Charles Demuth and Henry Moore.

A top Bermuda saxophone player will play and champagne, chocolates and an assortment of fruit will be served in the museum’s in Rose Garden.

• Love Train City Tour, Front Street Flagpole on Wednesdays between 11am and 12pm.

Couples can board the ‘love train’ for a guided tour of Bermuda’s romantic spots in Hamilton.

• Lovers Matinee — Speciality Cinema on Church Street, Hamilton on Wednesdays between 12:30pm and 2:30pm.

Couples will receive a complimentary movie snack.

• Dockyard Glassworks Demonstration, Maritime Lane, Royal Naval Dockyard on Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm.

Couples can watch local artists create masterpieces using the process of glassblowing and flame working. At the end of the demonstration, participants will receive a specially made hand blown glass heart, compliments of the Department of Tourism.

• Shopping in the City Tour, Front Street (meet at the Flagpole) on Fridays between 11am and 12pm.

Couples will also learn historical facts about Bermuda from guide Town Crier Ed Christopher, while receiving discounts at some of the city’s shops.

• Love Cruise, from Albuoy’s Point on Front Street on Fridays between 2pm and 3:30pm.

Passengers who be treated with musical entertainment and complimentary refreshments on the Hamilton Harbour’s “quaint water locations and romantic hideaways”.

• Love Tales Walking Tour, Town Hall in St. George’s on Saturdays between 10:30am and 11:45am.

Couples will be guided through the historic streets of the town and visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guides will tell of Bermuda’s greatest love stories while discovering locally made products and stay for the 12pm historical re-enactment in King’s Square.

• Robert and Jamie in Heritage Court at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on Saturdays between 9pm and 12am.

Robert and Jamie will perform an array of popular hit songs.
