Miami flights halt next month, other routes scaled back

Airlift to New York and Miami are both set to fall next month as the summer season winds down.

The upcoming flight schedule, published online by Skyport, showed American Airlines halting its daily service between Bermuda and Miami with the last flight set to leave the island on September 1.

The airline will also cut back its daily service to Philadelphia, discontinuing its Tuesday and Wednesday flights. The route will also not operate on September 4 and 5.

American Airlines will, however, continue to offer daily service to both Charlotte and New York throughout the month.

JetBlue, meanwhile, is scheduled to halt its daily summer service between Bermuda and New York JFK effective from September 2.

The airline will continue its daily service between Bermuda and Boston.

United Airlines will slightly reduce its service between Bermuda and Newark, removing its Thursday flight from the schedule.

BermudAir will scale back service to Toronto slightly, moving from six flights a week to five while increasing service to Charleston from one weekly flight to two.

The Bermudian-based airline will also continue to offer five weekly flights to Boston and Westchester, three weekly flights to Baltimore and two weekly flights to Montreal, Richmond, Raleigh-Durham, Hartford, Halifax and Orlando.

Air Canada will continue to offer five weekly flights to Toronto and continue its Saturday service to Montreal, while Delta will offer four weekly flights to New York and three weekly flights to Atlanta.

British Airways is scheduled to maintain daily service to London Heathrow and Sata Azores Airline will offer one flight between Bermuda and Ponta Delgada on September 7.
