Norwegian Aqua makes its maiden call to Bermuda
Bermuda welcomed the Norwegian Aqua this week on its inaugural call to the island for the first of seven planned trips this year.
The Norwegian Aqua, launched in March, is the first of NCL's Prima Plus class vessels and will serve as the cruise line’s flagship for Bermuda itineraries, sailing from New York City.
The ship, which boasts a capacity of more than 4,000 guests, is also scheduled to visit the island weekly during the 2026 cruise ship season
Diallo Rabain, the Acting Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, led a delegation to welcome the ship to the island and present a ceremonial plaque on behalf of the Government.
Mr Rabain said: “The ship’s officers and crew were proud and excited to share all the nuances and amazing amenities that make the Norwegian Aqua so special.
“I can see why this ship is Norwegian Cruise Lines's new flagship, and we are honoured to have her dedicated to the Bermuda market during our 2025 end-of-season and the 2026 summer season from New York.”
The Norwegian Aqua was originally scheduled to make its first call to Bermuda on August 20, but that visit was rerouted because of Hurricane Erin.
