A medical emergency has delayed a cruise ship’s arrival in Bermuda,
Lissa Poirot, reporting for cruisehive.com, wrote that a passenger was medically evacuated off the Carnival Sunshine near the Virginia coast yesterday morning.
The ship left Norfolk, Virginia on August 31 for her fifth trip to Bermuda this season and members of the US Coast Guard evacuated the passenger via helicopter.
Carnival Sunshine was expected to berth in Dockyard yesterday, but Bermuda Harbour Radio confirmed that she did not arrive and CruiseMapper that she is set to arrive at 9.30am and depart 4pm today.
Ms Poirot stated that another passenger experiencing “stroke-like symptoms” had to be airlifted from the vessel during an earlier voyage to Bermuda in July.
