BTA launches training programme for travel advisers
The Bermuda Tourism Authority has launched an initiative to help travel advisers promote the island to their clients.
The Bermuda Specialist Programme, launched in collaboration with US-based TravPRO Mobile, aims to modernise the island’s longstanding travel advisory education efforts through a digital platform.
A BTA spokeswoman said: “The travel advisory profession continues to grow as travellers increasingly seek expert guidance and personalised service.
“According to LinkedIn’s 2026 Jobs on the Rise report, travel adviser ranks among the fastest-growing roles in the United States, underscoring strong demand for specialist travel expertise.
“Travel advisers play a critical role in shaping travel decisions, particularly within luxury, experiential, wedding, family and multigenerational markets, segments that align closely with Bermuda’s tourism strategy.
“These travellers typically stay longer, spend more and engage deeply with local services, generating meaningful economic benefits for Bermudian businesses and employment.
“By investing in modern tools for travel advisers, the BTA continues to strengthen global demand for Bermuda and support sustainable economic growth for the island.”
The programme is designed to build on earlier adviser education initiatives by offering a centralised hub with training and sales tools, offering travel advisers destination education, marketing materials and real-time sales support.
Chris Keane, the director of sales at the BTA, said: “Leisure travel remains central to Bermuda’s economic success, and travel advisers are key ambassadors for our island in markets where bespoke service and expert planning matter most.
“This programme equips advisers with the knowledge and tools to curate exceptional Bermuda experiences that drive visitation and economic benefit for Bermudian businesses.”
Jonathan Cooper, the founder and chief executive of TravPRO Mobile, added that the company was proud to grow its partnership through the launch of the new Bermuda Specialist Sales Companion.
As part of the programme’s launch, travel advisers who complete it before the end of April will have a chance to win a position on a trade familiarisation trip to Bermuda later this year.
