The course will be those used for the regular series race in October; seven-and-a-half miles for men, five miles for women. Junior distances will be announced.

Selection for the team to represent Bermuda at the CAC Cross-Country Championships, to be held in Costa Rica at the end of February, will be based on performances over the whole cross-country series, although particular attention will be given to placings in the National Championships.

All athletes selected for team consideration will be expected to train as a squad in the weeks prior to the event.

GOLF GLF GOLF Chaka DeSilva mastered the blustery conditions at St. George's to turn in a four-over par 66 as tournament play continued in the Bermuda Junior Golf Association.

Matthew Durrant was two shots off the pace in second place with Neil Fenton third on 72. In Group Four Colin Brown led the way with a 70, one shot ahead of Chris Brough. Aaron Burrows was a further shot back on 72.

Ryan Marshall topped Group Three with 74. Anthony Smith was second on 78, three shots ahead of third place David Smith. In Group Two, Sean Dunkley led the way with a steady 46 over 11 holes to take honours while Scott Booth was two shots back in second place and Alex Doyle in third place with a 49.

At Horizons, Jaimie MacMillan fired a 33 over nine holes to lead the way.

Daniel Ezekiel was one shot back on 34 while Marco Smith and Seb Dimmock shared third place on 39.

RUNNING RUN ROAD RUNNING Entry forms are now available for the Bank of Butterfield's International Race Weekend, slated for Janunary 16-18.

Invitations have already been mailed out to elite competitors but other runners can enter the marathon, half-marathon or 10K by submitting entries -- available at most Island sports stores.

Deadline is December 17. About 1,500 runners from Bermuda and abroad are expected to take part in the annual event.

Some $4,000 in prizes are up for grabs in the Island Press Half-Marahon on Sunday. The race starts at 9 a.m. at the Royal Artillery Association in St.

George's and finishes at Island Press on Elliott Street.
