Hoey leads women home
Rose-Anna Hoey claimed top honours in the Open women’s division during Saturday’s cross-country meet at the Arboretum.Hoey was the first runner to cover the three mile course in her division, stopping the clock at 20 minutes and seven seconds.Tamika Williams (22:10) and Kim McIvor (24:27) were the only other runners in the women’s Open field.Chayce Smith, the sole competitor in the Open Men’s division, didn’t finish the five mile men’s course.Past Bermuda Half-Marathon champion Victoria Fiddick (24:39) and former Wolves football coach Robert Thomas (22:50) claimed the Masters women’s and men’s titles.Carol Griffith (28:50) and Chris Jones (22:00) were the top female and male finishers among the Senior Masters divisions.Senior boys and girls honours went to Carifta Games medallist Juma Mouchette (17:39) and Shuntae Hendrickson (23:12) respectively.
