Man arrested for drink driving after crash in St George’s

A 36-year-old man has been arrested for drink driving after a two-vehicle collision in St George’s yesterday, police said today.

Police were called to the accident near the junction of Mullet Bay Road and Wellington Slip Point Road at about 2pm.

A police spokesman said: “Police received a number of reports of an unresponsive male lying in the roadway near the temporary traffic lights just west of the junction where the collision involving a motor car and a motorcycle occurred.

“Reports are the motor car was travelling west along Mullet Bay Road when it was struck by the motorcycle which was travelling in the opposite direction.

“The 36-year-old male motorcycle rider was attended to at the scene by EMTs for suspected head injuries.

“He regained consciousness and was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment to his injuries and was subsequently arrested for driving whilst impaired.”
