Driver injured after car hits railing and overturns

A 28-year-old man was taken to hospital yesterday morning after his car went off the road, hit a wooden railing and overturned.

The accident happened at 12.05am today on Kindley Field Road, near Stone Crusher Corner.

A police spokesman said: “Early information suggests that the car involved was being driven west along Kindley Field Road when it went off the road, struck a wooden railing and overturned.

“The driver, said to be a 28-year-old Hamilton Parish man, was injured but conscious and alert on police arrival.”

The spokesman added: “He had to be assisted out of the crashed vehicle by emergency services personnel and members of the public, before being transported to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“It is anticipated that the man will be discharged from the hospital later today.”
