Motorcyclist fighting for life after St George’s crash

A motorcycle rider was fighting for his life in hospital yesterday afternoon after what police described as a serious crash in St George’s.

A police spokeswoman said the crash occurred at about 2.45pm on Cut Road near the junction with Floral Lane.

The male rider appeared to lose control of his vehicle as he drove east on Cut Road, striking a wall and a parked car.

She added: “Life-saving efforts were commenced at the scene and the man was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, for what has been described as life threatening injuries.”

Traffic was diverted along Floral Lane as officers processed the scene, but the road was reopened as of 4.40pm.
