Bus schedules adjusted for Bermuda Day

A holiday bus schedule comes into effect for Bermuda Day tomorrow.

The Department of Public Transportation warned of minor delays for those travelling by bus, because of diversions associated with the Bermuda Day Half Marathon, Bicycle Races and the Bermuda Day Parade.

Bermuda Day Half-Marathon and Bicycle Race detours will be in effect between 7.45am and approximately 12:30pm.

Inbound route 1, 7 and 8 buses will travel to the Central Terminal in Hamilton via South Road, Tee Street, Middle Road Devonshire, Montpelier Road, right on Palmetto Road, Barkers Hill Roundabout, North Shore Road, Berkeley Hill, Woodlands Road, Dundonald Street and Washington Street.

Trimingham Hill and Point Finger Road will not be serviced.

With the exception of the outbound 7.45am departure, all outbound Route 1, 7 and 8 buses will reverse this route.

The 7.45am outbound Route 8 will travel via Victoria Street, King Street and its normal route to the former TN Tatem Middle School, where it stops.

The 8.45am inbound Route 8 is cancelled.

Inbound Route 3 buses will operate their normal route until Montpelier Road where they will travel to the Central Terminal via Montpelier Road, right on Palmetto Road, Barkers Hill Roundabout, North Shore Road, Berkeley Hill, Woodlands Road, Dundonald Street Washington Street.

Outbound buses will reverse this route.

Inbound Route 4 buses will operate via North Shore Road until Berkeley Hill.

Buses will travel to Central Terminal via Berkeley Hill, St John’s Road, Woodlands Road, Dundonald Street Washington Street.

Outbound Route 4 buses will operate via St John’s Road.

Inbound Route 10 and 11 buses will operate via North Shore Road until Berkeley Hill.

Buses will travel to Central Terminal via Berkeley Hill, St John’s Road, Woodlands Road, Dundonald Street Washington Street.

Outbound Route 10 and 11 buses will reverse this route.

Palmetto Road will not be served because of road closures.

· Detours due to the Bermuda Day Parade: from 12:30pm, until all roads are reopened by the Bermuda Police Service, the following detours will be observed.

During this period, a two-way traffic system will be in place on King Street.

Inbound Route 1, 7 and 8 buses will operate their normal route until Spurling Hill where they will travel to Central Terminal via Spurling Hill, King Street and Victoria Street.

Outbound Route 1,7 and 8 buses will reverse this route.

Inbound Route 3 buses will operate their normal route until King Street where they will travel to Central Terminal via King Street and Victoria Street.

Outbound Route 3 buses will reverse this route.

Inbound Route 4 buses will operate via North Shore Road until Berkeley Hill.

Buses will travel to Central Terminal via Berkeley Hill, St John’s Road, Woodlands Road, Dundonald Street Washington Street. Outbound Route 4 buses will operate via St. Johns Road.

Inbound Route 10 and 11 buses will operate via North Shore Road until Berkeley Hill.

Buses will travel to Central Terminal via Berkeley Hill, St. Johns Road, Woodlands Road, Dundonald Street Washington Street

Outbound Route 10 and 11 buses will reverse this route.

Palmetto Road will not be served because of road closures.
