Roadworks on Harrington Sound Road next week

Trenching

Partial lane closures are set to return to Harrington Sound Road next week as Belco places fibre-optic lines in the area.

A Ministry of Public Works notice said the closures will enable Belco to pull fibre-optic lines through newly installed manholes on the road.

“The first stretch will be from Somersall Road towards Middle Road in Flatts. The second stretch will be from Somersall Road towards Paynters Road,” the notice said.

“The Work will require partial lane closure along each route and a temporary traffic light at Somersall Road to Devil's Hole. The work will commence Monday, November 14 and will be ongoing until Friday, December 2.”

Motorists are urged to use caution when driving along Harrington Sound Road as the work takes place, or use alternative routes.
