Strong winds disrupt ferry service

Services on the Green and Blue ferry routes were suspended today owing to strong winds.

A government spokeswoman said: “The Department of Marine and Ports Services has suspended the Green and Blue ferry routes due to the current inclement weather.

“Service will resume when conditions improve.

“A notice will be issued once service resumes, and passengers can contact the Ferry Terminal at 295 4506 for updates.”

Winds this morning are northeasterly 23 to 35mph with gusts to 45mph before moving to east-north-easterly this afternoon.

They may increase to 28 to 40mph with gusts to 50mph.
