This year’s Cup Match classic will result in one roadway in St George’s being closed to most traffic, Government announced.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said that Wellington Slip Road, where the St George’s Cricket Club is located, will be closed to all non-resident vehicular traffic from 9am to 9pm on August 3 and 4. No parking will be permitted along the road either.

Also, parking will be prohibited between Swing Bridge and the Town of St George along Mullet Bay Road, and from Wellington Lane to Suffering Lane, during the two days.

Parking between Mullet Bay Road and Wellington Back Road will also be restricted.

The restrictions will be in place between 6am and 9pm both days. Mullet Bay Park and Penno’s Wharf will be open for parking during this time and bus lay-bys near the park will be clearly marked Buses Only.

Police are authorised to close off additional streets and further restrict or authorise parking in the area during this time.
