Middle Road wall repaired months after accident

First Prev 1 2 Next Last
The repaired section of wall along Middle Road

A section of wall on Middle Road that runs above a steep drop-off has been repaired, many months after the two-car-length gap was created apparently by the crash of a garbage truck.

The damaged area was in Paget between Manse Road and Four Ways, just across from Tanglewood Road and close to the No 8 bus stop.

It appears to have been the result of an accident in March, in which a garbage truck hit the wall and went down the embankment.

Traffic was diverted at the time and a crane was brought in to remove the vehicle.

Until recently, the area was marked off with orange traffic cones, and no barrier was in place between the road and the drop.

An e-mail was sent to the Government asking about the damage to the wall and the repair of it, but no reply has been received.
