A car caused “extensive damage” to the entrance of the St George’s Service Station on Monday.

Police said the single-vehicle crash happened at 10.40am when the female driver lost control while attempting to park at the petrol station on Rose Hill.

The vehicle struck the building and caused “extensive damage to the wall and entryway”.

“As the vehicle collided with the wall, it also struck a pedestrian who sustained minor abrasions to his right hand. The driver did not sustain any injuries.”

A member of staff said the driver appeared to have hit the accelerator pedal instead of the brakes while attempting to park.
